two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Environment Agency’s Monitoring Laboratories (formally National Laboratory Service or NLS) have responsibility for the provision of analytical analysis of water samples in accordance with the Agency’s statutory responsibility for monitoring the environment.

Monitoring Laboratories uses discrete nutrient analyser equipment to analyse various environmental water samples (e.g. fresh water, surface water, waste water, ground water, saline water etc) with a range of high throughput analysis for nutrients such as ammonia and phosphates.

Monitoring Laboratories require a supplier for provision of discrete nutrient analysers for nutrient and related analysis. This is to facilitate asset replacement of up to eight (8) nutrient analyser instruments (the Equipment’) over a four (4) year period.

In addition to the written tender responses, that must be submitted in Bravo, the Authority will issue samples for analysis to all organisations who submit a tender. Samples will only be issued by the Authority once the tender has closed for written submissions. All tenderers will be provided with a minimum of one (1) week to carry out the analysis of samples and send the analysis report. Analysis report to be returned by Tenderers by Thursday 18th November using the messaging function in Bravo.

All organisations who submit a tender will also be invited to carry out an online demonstration of their proposed Equipment. Dates will be confirmed after the closing date for written responses but are estimated to be between 25th November and 7th December 2021.
