The tendered price was based on a basket of goods and services, which contained estimated volumes based on historic spend. The equipment and services procured under this contract will be based on the current needs of the population. In addition to the basket of goods, there is a requirement to supply special equipment and there are also payments and credits based on performance of the contract. An amount of £15m pa has been added to the contract price to reflect this.
