two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Joseph Chamberlain College are seeking to appoint a Design and Build Contractor for a new sports pitch, amenity block, carparking, access and associated landscaping on their recently acquired site at Moseley Road, Birmingham
The site measures approximately 0.68 ha and is located within the Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath East area of Birmingham. It is bounded by Athole Street to the north, the Camp Hill railway line to the east, Montpellier Street to the south and Moseley Road to the west. There is an existing gated, dropped-kerb vehicular access off Moseley Road.
The Site is brownfield and, until very recently, was occupied by the buildings associated with the former Birmingham Car Auction use, which previously operated from the Site. The majority of the buildings were recently demolished under Prior Approval (ref: 2020/09399/PA). One two-storey brick building remains on the Site, which is due for demolition October 2021, the contract works will begin after this demolition.
