two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Ulster University will shortly be undertaking a procurement exercise and intends to procure a contract for Sports Extension Works at the University's High Performance Centre located on the Jordanstown Sports Village (JSV).

The indicative timetable for the main stages of the procurement process is anticipated to be as follows:

• Pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ): September 2023

• Invitation to Tender (ITT): December 2023

• Contract award: Quarter 1 2024

• Works commencement on-site: Quarter 2 2024.

The project is to build an extension on to the existing High Performance Centre located at JSV.

This project will provide an additional 2,500sqm of accommodation to supplement the existing High Performance Centre. The building will sit within the current car park to the west of the existing facility and will connect into the existing building at two points on the ground floor and one point on the first floor. The additional accommodation includes a gym, fitness studios, teaching spaces, changing rooms, catering facility and a new reception area. Works will also require the provision of mechanical and electrical building services and ground works.

The design is being undertaken by University appointed consultants up to and including RIBA Stage 4. The project will be delivered to BREEAM Excellent.

The fully constructed building is to be operational by the Summer of 2025.

two.2.14) Additional information

It is anticipated the Contract will entail up to fifteen (15) months during the initial construction period and twelve (12) months for the defects liability period. Therefore the total Contract duration will be approximately twenty seven (27) months.

As set out in Section II.2.4 above, this notice is being provided for information and advance notice only. The information contained within this notice may be subject to change within the final contract notice published in relation to this opportunity.

The University will, once the Contract Notice and procurement documents have been made available, welcome interest from all suitable potential providers. However, interested parties are advised that they must ultimately satisfy the minimum requirements of the selection criteria that will be set out in the procurement documents, in order to be selected to proceed to the next stage, Invitation to Tender (ITT) award criteria of the procurement process.
