    • absence of competition for technical reasons

Explanation:

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence (“MoD”), intends to award a Contract to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (“GA-ASI”) for the delivery of the Protector Training Conduct to train the initial 33 mission crews. The contract duration is for a period of 19 months from September 2022 until March 2024, with a value of $25.9M.

This is because the Protector design, modifications, certification and training activities are based upon Certifiable Predator B (CPB) platform which GA-ASI are the designer and only manufacturer.
