The authority seeks to increase it's Alcohol data set through the purchasing of data from the 'Try-Dry App'. This local data will enable the authority to support our local populations to change their own drinking behaviours.
This cuts crime, increases economic activity and reduces demands on our health and social care systems. It also reduces the number of people who need specialist alcohol treatment services.
The data which we will be purchasing includes:
The full data service, which is (i) monthly data on signups by postcode and demographics, (ii) quarterly impact reports on drinking level reductions, and (iii) up to two live webinars annually, each with unlimited numbers of 'referral professionals' (GPs, police officers, social workers, paramedics, environmental health workers, benefits staff, local authority marketing and comms staff, pharmacists, or some or all of these) at which we can explain: (a) what the Try Dry app does that no other tools do, (b) how and why it works, (c) the evidence for its effectiveness, (d) who to refer it to, and (e) suggestions for how best to refer people to it.
It is the intention of the Council to award this contract under the most suitable provider process. The lifetime of the project is for an initial period of 1 years. This is a new service and a new provider and it is anticipated that the service will be provided between 01.08.24 - 31.08.25. The lifetime value (1 years) of this contract is £8200

Alcohol Change UK are the only provider who can provide the local authority with the required data from the Try-Dry App. Alcohol Change UK hold the data received from the App and this agreement is for the local authority to purchase this information from the data holder. There is no other organisation which has oversight and governance of this data. Alcohol Change UK are experts in supporting change and helping people control their drinking. Their campaigns are innovative, use behavioural science, is coproduced with users and produces outstanding data.
