The purpose of this tender is to set up an Internal frame work of electrical support contractors with the view to award a primary provider for each lot on a reactive and small works basis and up to a maximum of 3 contingents to provide support as required by the council.
A provider can bid for all or individual lots
In addition to the standard lots detailed within this tender, there may also be the requirement for adhoc projects to be completed, It is the council’s intention to utilise all winning providers (Primary and contingent for each lot) for mini bid competitions in this instance.
There are no guaranteed volumes for all requirements on this contract at any time.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The council has an annual rewire program of its housing stock generated from the Councils asset data base on a cyclical basis or from failed ECIRs. The work will predominantly be carried out in occupied dwellings and any furniture, floor coverings etc will need to be moved by the contractor to gain access for cable runs. Dust from drilling etc should be kept to a minimum and cleared up immediately. Cables are not expected to be chopped into the wall but where trunking is used it should be fixed in corners of rooms, on top of skirting boards or adjacent to architraves and be clipped as per the regulations. Any making good should also be included. All work should be carried out to BS7671 and at least one operative with 18th edition qualifications should be on site at all times.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Councils small blocks of flats mainly comprising 4-8 units are risk assessed to determine if they need relighting to include emergency lighting. The work will be in communal areas – hallways, landings and staircases and will need to be accessed by the tenants and the public at all times. Specific care needs to be taken to avoid trip hazards from tools, cables etc. and work areas should have barriers at all times. All conduit will need to be galvanised steel and any making good where old light fittings have been removed should also be included to a plaster finish. Any breaches of fire barriers should be rectified before completion of work on a daily basis. All work should be carried out to BS7671 and at least one operative with 18th edition qualifications should be on site at all times.
