two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Woodland and Recreation Unit of Belfast City Council is responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day maintenance of playground equipment, outdoor gyms, and multi-use games areas (MUGAs), throughout the city. Part of the maintenance service involves a range of unplanned installations/repairs to both playground equipment, outdoor gym equipment, MUGA’s and wet pour safety surfacing due to vandalism, wear, and tear. The requirements of this tender include a range of planned and unplanned/reactive work. The work will include, but is not limited to:
• Minor repair/maintenance of all play equipment, such as rope repairs, aerial runway repairs, roundabout repairs and outdoor gym repairs (supplied by various manufacturers) and any new installations of individual playground/outdoor gym equipment located within all Council playgrounds, to BS EN 1176 and BS EN 16630
• Repair/Maintenance/Installation of wet pour safety surfacing within all Council playground and outdoor gym sites, to BS EN 1177
• Ancillary works, as instructed
