The works shall consist of maintenance operations to grass and shrub beds and where specifically instructed, related grounds maintenance activities at the Client's two main hospital sites: Nottingham City Hospital and the Queen's Medical Centre.

The operations will include:
- Grass mowing
- Shrub, tree and hedge trimming / pruning
- Tree surveys
- Tree works
- Weeding control and mulching of planted areas
- Low level work to trees
- Weed and moss control on paths, car parks, drying areas and other such hard surfaces in the property.

Services may be required at new/additional property during the service period (e.g. new site coming online following completion of a separate building project) and therefore any values specified in this notice may increase in excess of 50% as a result of such a change.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Contractor shall provide comprehensive Winter Maintenance Services, specifically appropriate snow clearance and/or gritting services (the service), to the Client’s sites. This is to facilitate safe access for the client’s staff, members of the public, patients and other 3rd parties to the property.

The Contractor and shall be responsible for ensuring the key objectives of the service are maintained, specifically:
- Responding to adverse weather conditions twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
- Maintaining safe, logical and clear vehicle and pedestrian circulation routes across the property at all times
- Minimising disruption to the property, its core services, staff, patients, visiting members of the public and any adjoining neighbours

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Client) will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar days standstill period at the point of information on the award of the contract, as communicated to Bidders. Applicants who are unsuccessful shall be informed by the Client as soon as possible after the decision has been made as to the reasons why the applicant was unsuccessful. If an appeal regarding the award of the contract has not been successfully resolved, The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by breach of the rules to take legal action. Any such action must be brought within the applicable limitation period. Where a contract has not been entered into, the Court may order the setting aside of the award decision or order for any document to be amended and may award damages, make a declaration of ineffectiveness, order for a fine to be paid, and/or order the duration of the contract be shortened. The purpose of the standstill period referred to above is to allow the parties to apply to the Courts to set aside the award decision before the contract is entered into.
