two.2.4) Description of the procurement
This is a foundation level course providing key knowledge and skills required to assist and move individuals with dignity and respect whilst ensuring carer’s own and others safety. Assisting and moving individuals is mandatory for front line workers and is a core requirement for the entire social care workforce involved in assisting people to move, in line with the national occupational standards and the Care Certificate. The following legislation relevant for assessing moving and handling risks: Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSWA) Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) (as amended 2002) The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). The training will also include safe working principles and safe use of equipment relevant to the service area.
