London Borough of Hackney has a legal obligation under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the safety of their employee - Regulation 4 of Personal Protection Equipment at Work Regulation 1992 makes it clear that employers must provide suitable PPE for employers exposed to Health and Safety risks.
