Wokingham Borough Council is seeking to engage with any external organisation or company to gauge the level of market interest in any type of short-, medium- or long-term use of any of the council-owned assets including property, land or facilities within the borough of Wokingham.

Wokingham Borough Council is a unitary authority situated in the heart of the Royal County of Berkshire, located approximately 30 miles west of London. Wokingham has been voted in the top 10 best places in England to live (national survey) and is made up of 3 towns and 14 parishes, each with their own distinctive character, retail and leisure offerings.

Wokingham is an affluent area with great opportunities and low levels of deprivation. It has a strong local economy with continued inward investment into the Borough. We are now looking to expand the offer and meet the needs of our residents.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) mid-2020 population estimates, Wokingham is home to over 170,000 people, and this is estimated to rise by over 10,000 by 2032 (ONS mid-2018 based population projections), indicating a fast rate of population growth.

We have an attractive and extensive land and property portfolio and we are looking for compelling ideas to maximise the use of our assets in order to drive income for the borough and its residents. All proposals will be assessed on value for money, meeting the borough’s objectives, and the benefit to our residents. This does not include the sale of any assets.
