Reading Borough Council are seeking to improve their market knowledge of Extra Care Services. We would like to take the opportunity to do some soft market testing as outlined below, to determine current interest levels in the market. Reading Borough Council is seeking to engage with both Care and Housing Providers with an interest in Extra Care services. We are reviewing our current model of Extra Care and would value feedback from providers, both in and out of the Reading area, to assist in the development of a specification for a future procurement.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

2.4 Currently, we have 7 Extra Care schemes in the Reading area. There are 416 flats across these schemes. Although most are available to rent, leasehold and shared ownership properties are also available. These are predominantly for older people (age 55 years and over) who are still able to live independently with a care and support package. Emergency support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Activities and housing related support are also provided via background hours (known as floating support).
