Suffolk County Council are looking to engage with housing providers (registered social landlords or voluntary organisations) within the market to discuss progressing capital grant applications from NHS England and NHS Improvement fund. two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Suffolk County Council are looking to engage with the housing providers to progress capital grant applications from NHS England and NHS Improvement fund. The grant funding would be used to purchase and adapt properties to meet individualised housing requirements for people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviours of distress, including those with a mental health condition. The aim is to deliver a bespoke housing opportunity that meets individualised and specialist housing need to support discharge from hospital and prevent hospital admission. If successful all grants will be made by NHSE and secured by a first legal charge (in perpetuity). NHSE’s powers to make grants are defined in legislation and are restricted to making grants to specific types of organisations which include Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and Voluntary OrganisationsNHSE cannot fund capital investment of NHS providers or Independent Sector (for profit) providers. Housing providers need to ensure they have the capacity and skills to support the progression of the funding application and if successful development of the housing offer from April 2024. Applications are submitted at risk with the approval for NHSE to cover any costs once the legal work on the transaction is completed, or in agreed tranche payments for larger value schemes.
