two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Generally used for buffets from the delivered hospitality / event catering service, including high profile events such as the University congregation ceremonies.

We would prefer flexibility and range to be able to offer a variety in size and style to suit the customer’s requirement i.e. a requirement for a meeting may need to be large enough to provide an alternative to a sandwich as an option, but a requirement for an event buffet may need to small enough to eat as ‘finger food’

This includes but is not limited to:

(i) Sweet baked goods, e.g. biscuits, sweet pies, shortbread, sponges, crumpets, muffins, macaroons, traybakes, meringues, petit fours and cooked and uncooked pastry cases.

(ii) Savoury baked goods e.g. savoury pies, pasties, quiche, savoury muffins and sausage rolls or similar.

List and brief description of selection criteria

Mandatory, Discretionary and Qualitative Exclusion Questions are included separately on the e-tender system. These are Pass/Fail questions. A submission that fails on any of the Mandatory or Discretionary Exclusion questions will automatically be excluded from the tender process unless the Supplier can demonstrate they have taken remedial actions to ensure there is no reoccurrence of the offence. A Supplier who fails any of the Qualitative Exclusion question will automatically be excluded from the tender process. Suppliers who have passed the requirements will have their tenders assessed against the criteria stated in the Invitation to Tender.

The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into.
