Who we are?
Anchor Hanover is England?s largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life, offering care homes, retirement villages and independent living. Our corporate offices are based in Bradford and London, and we have over 9000 employees.
As part of the services offered Anchor Hanover stores and processes a large amount of personal and confidential information related to our residents and customers and this includes medical sensitive information. This information is stored in a variety of systems that are either hosted directly by us or by our partners.
Anchor Hanover take their responsibility to secure this information very seriously to ensure we protect both our residents and our business.
The Role of Security within Anchor Hanover
The responsibility for information security lies within the IT Operations function at Anchor Hanover and are responsible for the following
? Defining an overall security strategy and implementing it
? Defining security policies and ensuring they are applied
? Assessment of proposed new systems and services to ensure they comply with IT security standards
? Monitoring the IT estate to identify activities or patterns that could indicate a security or data breach and respond to them
? Understand the implications of new and emerging threats and identify appropriate mitigations
Managed Security Service Project
There isn?t a dedicated Information Security Officer role at Anchor Hanover and the management of security is within the scope of the IT Operations team. The long-term strategy is to source the services of a third party to deliver the following capabilities
