The specification will form part of a steady state contract to which the Provider(s) will deliver for a 5-year period. An option to continue the contract for up to a further 2 years will be decided following a review of performance before the initial 5-year contract period expires.

The focus for temporary accommodation will be to support young people to become tenancy ready.

This includes being part of a community, managing their own independence and avoiding youth homelessness.

This can be an exciting but also daunting time for some young people who may be vulnerable, usually with high levels of complex needs. Support for these young people is essential to ensure that in the future they can live cohesively within the community.

Support available prior to securing settled accommodation is particularly important to promote the potential success of any future tenancy by enabling tenancy readiness.

This will not only have a positive impact on the quality of life of young people but also contributes to Salford’s homelessness prevention agenda in terms of preventing future homelessness.

Salford’s existing Semi Independent Living Services supported accommodation schemes currently provides a combined 62 units and are based across Salford.
