The Borough Council of Calderdale (the "Council") invites Tenders from Tenderers who wish to be considered for the Advocacy Service. The Council wishes to appoint one contractor to delivery the Council's entire Advocacy Service. It is anticipated that the Advocacy Service will commence on the 1st April 2022 for a period up to 31st March 2025, with an option to extend for a further two (2) periods of 12 months. The service is to be delivered throughout the Borough of Calderdale with some operations being outside the Borough as applicable (see Contract /Service Specification Appendix 3 - Out of Area Protocol ).

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Borough Council of Calderdale (the "Council") invites Tenders from Tenderers who wish to be considered for the Advocacy Service . It is anticipated that the Advocacy Service will commence on the 1st April 2022 for a period up to 31st March 2025, with an option to extend for a further two (2) periods of 12 months . The service is to be delivered throughout the Borough of Calderdale with some operations being outside the Borough as applicable (see Contract /Service Specification Appendix 3 - Out of Area Protocol ).

The Advocacy Service is for adults and young people aged 16-18 years. The service provided must ensure the Council meets its statutory requirements in relation to the provision of advocates including Care Act Advocates, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates, Independent Mental Health Advocates and paid Relevant Person's Representatives. The service will ensure the smooth transition in arrangements to Liberty Protection Safeguards as required. The service will also deliver non-statutory mental health advocacy to inpatients within the Calderdale inpatient psychiatric settings and promote awareness and understanding of advocacy (see Contract/Service Specification).
