The project has been in development for several years, with careful planning to achieve the goals of both Council’s to support the population of Dover at the heart of the decisions made.The benefits that the project will bring include enhanced services for the community and an improvement to the building infrastructure, securing the long term future of the facilities on site through much needed investment.

This project requires a refurbishment of the Dover Discovery Centre including replacement of the life expired roof and mechanical/electrical services, with internal refurbishment to create a new community services hub for Dover residents whilst improving public access to heritage and archaeological assets.

Once the building works are completed, it is planned that all services will reoccupy the building during December 2023

The Authority is using the competitive procedure with negotiation (CPN) process, pursuant to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
