two.1.4) Short description

The University is currently preparing to initiate a procurement process to award a contract for Expansion and Refurbishment works to its 29 Marylebone Road Building. The potential scale and scope of this project is such that it offers a significant opportunity to bidders. Prior to initiating the procurement, the University wishes to establish the level of market interest in participating in the procurement process and the technical and Professional Ability of candidates to deliver such a project. Any information gathered will be appraised as outlined in the questionnaire and will inform any possible subsequent procurement process . For the avoidance of doubt, this phase of the project will determine whether bidders in the market are suitable for this project.

Potential Bidders will need to register for free on the Proactis procurement portal (https://procontract.due-north.com), by completing a simple registration, Once registered bidders can use the search function under "find opportunities" .

Further information including the questionnaire can be downloaded via the https://procontract.due-north.com portal. The questionnaire must be completed and returned via the Portal message function no later than the 23rd August 2022. There are no other formal tender documents to be completed at this time other than the questionnaire.

The contract will be awarded by restricted procedure without further publication or a call for competition.

The date relating to the publication of the ITT is tentative and may be subject to change, but it is estimated that this will be October 22.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

This notice is a call for competition for the following works

Extension of the existing building 'Annex' to increase the footprint up to Level 04,

• Substructure works including piling for the new lift core,

• Structural strengthening works to the existing substructure, frame and roof areas,

• A new precast stair is included to create a new fire escape covering 9 levels with new balustrading and handrails,

• New Glazed façade to Luxborough street,

• Alteration works to the Bingham place façade to accommodate vehicular turning area space,

• The construction of a new lift core to the rear of the building

• Making good existing brick façade and replacing windows with triple glazing

• Fixed furniture and equipment only (Reception desk, Catering units, kitchenettes, containers, Cycle racks, Multiservice units, Meeting Pods etc.)

• MEP works including works to substation

• External works to sidewalks, turning area and terraces/roof spaces.

• The contract includes for any demolition and strip out of the existing building.

• The project will achieve BREEAM 'Excellent'. A BREEAM Tracker will be issued as an addendum (Appendix B).

• The following items are not included in this Contract: Loose Furniture, Fixtures and Fittings (FF&E)

The potential scale and scope of this is such that it offers a significant opportunity to bidders. Prior to initiating the procurement, the University wishes to establish the level of market interest in participating in the procurement process. At this stage, any information gathered through this market consultation exercise may inform internal business planning and any possible subsequent procurement process and will be appraised as outlined in the questionnaire. For the avoidance of doubt, this phase of the project is to determine whether there are suitable bidders in the market and as such those will be invited to tender .
