two.1.4) Short description

South Cambridge District Council (SCDC) is seeking an Operator Partner to manage the sports pitches and pavilion at Western Park for a minimum 3 year period from 1st September 2023 (with a potential extension of 1 year plus 1 year). The pitches are currently owned by L&Q, but SCDC is seeking to unite the sports pitches with the sports pavilion and car park (which are nearing the completion of construction) under its ownership, thus allowing the sports pitches and pavilion to be operated as one. The pitches are currently managed by Greenbelt; however, this management company will step back from management and maintenance once the Operator Partner is mobilised. Greenbelt will work with the Operator Partner to affect handover and a smooth transition between these service providers.

The specification is for management of the Sports Pavilion (with changing rooms, kitchen and clubroom with sports pitches, bowling green and MUGA adjacent to the building) and a number of grass sports pitches, bowling green, and a synthetic turf pitch. The Sports Pavilion will be built and ready for use in September 2023.
