The Raizer 2 Lifting Chair is an emergency lifting chair that facilitates a fast and safe solution to get people who have fallen back on their feet. It can be operated single and is an ideal solution for transferring someone who has fallen to a sitting or standing position. It is quiet and causes less distress to frail older people, often with dementia who can be disturbed by a noisy inflatable option. which is Faster, stronger, and more stable than traditional inflatable lifting cushions. It has been piloted in a number of care homes across the ICS and NHS England has provided the funding to roll it out to more homes.
The wider roll out of Raizer Chairs across the ICS should reduce the percentage of long lies per fall, reduce the need for ambulance call outs and potentially fewer admissions to hospitals. The use of Raizer Chairs is typically reported to deliver 55% fewer falls, 20% fewer hospital admissions and 40% savings in staff time.
The Raizer chair is manufactured in Denmark with two distributors in the UK. Felgains are the only suppliers in the south of the United Kingdom.
The initial phase is for a value of approximately £148,000. With full roll-out the final value could be up to a maximum of £450,000.
