This project is being procured by Luton Council on behalf of Luton Rising (LR). Luton Rising are the Contract Manager and the contract will be entered into with Luton Rising. A single Provider is required to provide Station Operation and Facilities Management services.

The Luton DART covers a 2km stretch between the mainline Luton Airport Parkway railway station and the UK’s fifth biggest and fastest-growing major airport. Seamless transfer time from Central London in 32 minutes and from Luton Airport Parkway station to the airport terminal in 3 minutes replacing the previous bus services. It’s a driverless system and scores over other means of transport in terms of energy efficiency and has extra benefits of comfortable seating and air conditioning, providing the ultimate express transfer for travellers.

The DART carried over 2.7 million passengers in its first year of operation.
