two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School is a fully comprehensive school with nearly 1400 students on roll including 340 in the Sixth Form. Located on the Northern outskirts near Lincoln’s beautiful cathedral, the school works in partnership with fifteen primary schools, ranging from our nearest neighbours in uphill Lincoln and our local estates, to villages as far north as Lea and Marton.

LCHS offer a full and diverse curriculum which includes academic and vocational opportunities, including an impressive range of foreign languages, seven different Technology courses and a whole spectrum of sporting opportunities using our all-weather surface, swimming pool, fitness suite, dance studio, sports hall and gymnasium. We also offer opportunities for our students to visit and make links with schools in a wide range of other countries across the world. In addition, there is a full and exciting range of extra-curricular opportunities each day after school.

The school has achieved the prestigious International School Award on five successive occasions, one of only a handful of schools in the country to have done so. LCHS are proud of the success of all of their students who go on to excel in all walks of life, including places in top universities, apprenticeships and college/further education.

Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School are seeking cleaning services providers to tender for the provision of a full daily cleaning service during term time and periodic cleaning services outside of term time.

The contract will be for three years in duration, with the option to extend for a further one period of up to two years and with a commencement date of 1st January 2023.

TUPE regulations apply to this contract, which involves the transfer of existing cleaning staff, of which some may members of the Local Government Pension Scheme, requiring arrangements to be made for 'Admitted Body' status with the relevant pension fund.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The contracting authority reserves the right not to award any or part of the contract which is the subject of this contract notice and reserves the right to terminate the procurement process at any time.

The contracting authority will not be liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
