two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Selwood Housing are seeking to implement an asbestos removal/reinstatement programme in order to undertake the removal/replacement of licensed/unlicensed asbestos-containing materials (ACM's) identified within a diverse portfolio of social housing properties.
The purpose of the programme is to enable us to actively manage the risk posed to customers/colleagues by the presence of these materials, proactively maintain our housing stock, and ensure that our properties are maintained to the highest standards to meet the requirements of our customers.
The appointed contractor will be required to undertake removal of licensed/unlicensed ACM's in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring working practices meet all current regulations, coordinate access and reinstatement works in a timely manner, and coordinate with Selwood Housing, our customers and other contractors throughout each stage of the programme to ensure that works are completed to a high standard and to the satisfaction of Selwood Housing and our customers.
The appointed contractor is also required to provide an out-of-hours contact & response service should any asbestos incidents arise outside of normal working hours, where there would be a requirement to receive details of the incident, and arrange to attend in order to make safe. The programme is proposed to take place over a 5-year period.
