The Etihad Campus and associated areas are continually maintained to a high standard, the core part of this contract is to maintain and improve the visual attractiveness of the four areas of the campus.
A high standard includes the consistent upkeep of all grassed areas, including verges, bedding displays, gardens and horticultural features, herbaceous borders, shrubbery, hedges, and trees, and includes an annual weed treatment program across all four areas.
Maintaining these standards will ensure a pleasant environment for stakeholders and visitors alike, ensuring a pleasant, safe, clean, green campus. The grounds maintenance contract is proactively managed around all major events, including football matches.
Grass cutting & maintenance of grassed areas
The following grass measurements may be used as a guide:
The measurement of grassed areas across the Etihad Campus site including the tennis centre and athletics arena is 41,095 M2.
The National Cycling Centre grassed area is 13,256 M2.
The measurement of grassed areas across the Beswick Hub is 17,432 M2

Please note:Potential contractors are strongly advised to attend an open day and campus tour, tours will take place at 10.00 am on Tuesday 10th or Tuesday 17th August (you only need to attend on one of these dates and a maximum of three people per company will be allowed to attend).
These tours are to make sure that contractors have a clear understanding of the requirements for the campus before they submit their tender. Further visits to the campus can be arranged, only by appointment.
Please note that any questions relating to the contract should be submitted via CHEST after the visit.

The Council is using the e-business portal known as the Chest. Applicants will need to register their details at the following link www.the-chest.org.uk . Once registered, applicants will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the documentation relating to this opportunity. Applicants will need to electronically submit their completed tender documents, including online questionnaire, via the on-line portal by 11am on Tuesday 31st August 2021 as referred to in IV.2.2. Any clarification queries must also be submitted via the Chest website by the date referred to in the tender documentation.
The contract will be for two years expected to commence October/November 2021 with an option to extend for up to two years.
The successful supplier will be required to actively participate in the economic and social regeneration of the locality of, and surroundings of, the place of delivery of the contract. Therefore, selection and award criteria, specification requirements and contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations as relevant to the subject matter of this project.
The Council reserves the right not to award the contract, as a result of this Contract Notice. The Council shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by any organisation in responding to this notice or in tendering for the proposed contract.
All submissions must be in English, with any clarifications or discussions conducted in English. Tenders and supporting documents must be priced in pounds sterling and all payments under the proposed contract will be made in pounds sterling.
