two.2.4) Description of the procurement
1. The primary purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to alert potential suppliers to an opportunity in relation to bus services across Windsor and Maidenhead. At present, RBWM envisage 6 packages of services with the lotting structure to be determined. It is likely the opportunity will be formally published in the coming weeks.
2. This contract operates as follows: RBWM provide fixed payments to support the operation of the bus services. Any income yielded from the services, however, remains with the supplier. The contract's status as a concession contract is yet to be assessed.
3. This opportunity is likely to be for an initial term of 5 years with extension options available. The anticipated support for all 6 packages is likely to be in the region of £1.2m - £1.3m per annum.
4. The services are a core requirement for RBWM and it is expected that commencement of the new contracts shall be no later than 1 April 2025. However, this is yet to be finalised. RBWM is currently considering its procurement route and is currently considering the open procedure or a competitive negotiation procedure; nevertheless, we are not making conclusive representations at this juncture.
5. RBWM has taken the decision to provide suppliers with advance sight of the tentative specification of requirements. We feel it is critical to socialise our vision with potential suppliers ahead of any formal procedure. Please e-mail Joey.Stanford@RBWM.gov.uk for the specifications. We underline that these are not finalised and are provided to help identify any salient issues and gauge supplier interest/capacity.
6. We are also interested in identifying which routes suppliers are interested in and confirming that supplier capacity exists to accommodate the routes.
7. RBWM invites any feedback through the following survey link: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CEZ35T/. Please feel free to provide as little or as much detail as you wish - most questions are non-mandatory.
