two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Highsted Grammar School is a small girls’ grammar school situated in the North Kent town of Sittingbourne. We were one of the first to convert to academy status in the Autumn term 2010. The school itself is a high-performing girls’ school, were pastoral care and enrichment feature as highly as academic success. Having featured three times in Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector’s list of outstanding schools, we are proud to play a leading role in the education of young people in our area.

We have 688 pupils and 154 post 16 pupils. Increasing to 697 pupils and 220 post 16 pupils by 2027. Currently 81 pupils qualify for r Free School Meals.

The current value of our School Uniform spend is in excess of £165.00.

We have a school uniform shop here at school, parents can also purchase on-line. We sell second hand uniform in the shop and FSM students have their uniform paid for if necessary. We also gift uniform periodically.

Mandatory items include Kilt, Blazer with school logo embroidered, jumper skort, hoodie and blouse.

We also have options such as water-resistant finishes for blazers, there are pocket / zip options here as well plus anti-microbial finishes for sportswear.

The contract is intended to commence on 1st January 2025 and will be for a period of 3 years, ending 31st December 2027.

Total contract value over 3 years = £495,000.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The contracting authority reserves the right not to award any or part of the contract which is the subject of this contract notice and reserves the right to terminate the procurement process at any time.

The contracting authority will not be liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
