IWM is seeking to replace its Digital Asset Management System (“DAMS”). IWM relies on this system to preserve, store and make accessible the millions of born digital and digitised assets in our collections, which include film, photographs, sound, artworks and documents.
The DAMS is an internal system which is closely integrated with our Collections Management System, and it also supplies digital assets to our website and commercial services. This procurement includes the following activities:
•Configuration of a new DAMS
•Integration of the new DAMS with other IWM systems (notably the Axiell Collections CMS)
•Migration of assets & metadata from the existing DAMS to the new DAMS
•Ongoing support for the new DAMS.
While parts of this work are tightly specified, there are areas where IWM will be open to a variety of possible approaches.
