Sellafield Ltd wishes to invite potential suppliers to a Pre-Procurement Supplier Engagement Event. Sellafield Ltd seeks to provide the market with the up-to-date information and obtain market feedback in relation to the procurement of the Manufactured Products Agile Spares (MPAS) opportunity.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The scope of the MPAS opportunity includes the provision of design, manufacture, supply and maintain the following products:
• Manufactured and fabricated products - products/spares are required on an ongoing basis to support stock replenishment for Sellafield Ltd operating plants, this includes minor project related demand. Products are utilised site-wide and are critical for ongoing site operations; and
• Calciner Spares - these are vital to the operation of the High-Level Waste Plant (HLWP), a continuous requirement to operations any cessation of supply can stop operations.

Further to the above the scope of the MPAS opportunity includes:
• General machining and fabrication of products including high precision and complexity manufactured from all material grades such as carbon steel, stainless steel and exotic materials from engineering drawings up to Sellafield Quality Grade 01;
• UKCA Marking / CE Marking on behalf of Sellafield Ltd;
• Undertaking manufacturing trials, prototyping and a Design for Manufacture Studies capability to allow proof of concept; and
• An Emergency Supply Agile Service should there be an emergency breakdown on plant. This will include 24/7 level of support (by exception when required) and expediting of delivery in case of urgent Sellafield Ltd demands.

Additional Scope
Provision is also made within MPAS, as a category approach, for the potential to include manufacture, supply and delivery of:
• Flask Spares – these are high complexity up to Quality Grade 01;
• Melters – are high precision and high complexity manufactured products up to Quality Grade 02;
• Inductors - Furnace inductors, and associated equipment up to Quality Grade 02; and
• Stillages & Stools - required for High Integrity Stainless Steel Containers (HISSC) up to Quality Grade 02.

two.2.14) Additional information

Sellafield would like to invite interested suppliers to a face-to-face briefing on 18th June 2024 to:
1. Provide potential suppliers with an update on the MPAS scope, contract Terms and Conditions and Procurement approach;
2. Provide potential suppliers with the opportunity to discuss the procurement approach and process with Sellafield in one-to-one sessions; and
3. Test market appetite to bid for this opportunity; and
4. Create a networking opportunity for potential tier 2 and below suppliers to meet and discuss the MPAS procurement with potential tier 1 suppliers and vice versa.

The venue for the briefing will be confirmed upon registration, but it will be in the Cumbria region.
