A new generation of local construction frameworks will be delivered by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Velindre NHS Trust and Hosted Organizations to support construction works within South Wales.

There will be a total of four frameworks covering Building Related Services, Asbestos Remediation, Electrical Service and Mechanical Services. The frameworks will succeed the current Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (C&V UHB) arrangements which has been running since 2020.

A virtual market engagement event will take place on the 13th June 10.30 am to share further details on our plans for the next generation frameworks.

The NHS and public sector as a whole continue to strive for better value for money, improved quality, and increased performance in terms of time and productivity. It also aims to deliver tangible savings and efficiencies. With this in mind NHS Wales has, for some time, been committed to a procurement policy that encourages a shift away from traditional and often adversarial contractual relationships towards an approach based more on collaboration, integrated supply chains and shared goals.

Linings/Sheathing/Dry Partitioning

Windows/Doors/Stairs

Surface Finishes

Furniture/Equipment

Building Fabric Sundries (Fire stopping)

Disposal Systems (Above Ground Foul Drainage Systems)

Building Fabric Reference Specifications

Electrical

Mechanical

Specialist i.e Kitchen etc

Electrical Framework

All aspects of Electrical works within the estate

Works shall include, but not be limited to:-

New Install or replacement of existing Distribution Systems / Boards.

New Install or replacement of existing Small Power systems.

New Install or replacement of existing Lighting and Emergency Lighting systems.

New Install or replacement of existing External Lighting systems.

New Install or replacement of existing Fire Alarm equipment.

New Install or replacement of existing Intruder Alarm & Access Control systems

Asbestos Remediation Framework

All aspects of Asbestos Remediation works

Works shall include, but not be limited to:-

Non notifiable asbestos removal works on low risk products such as vinyl, cement,Textured coatings etc.

Notifiable non-licensed works (disposing of contaminated waste).

Removal of medium and higher risk ACM’s under fully controlled conditions.

The provision of safe access into contaminated areas for UHB workers and sub contractors.

Collection of asbestos waste generated in house

Mechanical Framework

All aspects of Mechanical Works within the estate

Works shall include, but not be limited to:-

Heating Systems

Hot & Cold Water

Air Conditioning

Air Handling Units and Ventilation Systems

Medical Gas

Steam

Thermal Insulation

Building Management Systems
