Leicestershire County Council (The Council) are considering options for Operated Sweeper Hire from 1st November 2024, to include planned and emergency hire of sweeper vehicles with operators to support The Council with sweeping activities in areas that may include surface dressing, white lining, depot, and emergency sweeping within the Leicestershire area.

Please note that this is not a call for competition, and any information given above is not guaranteed within any subsequent procurement, only indicative of our potential requirements.

Before committing to any particular procurement method, contract type, or method of delivery, The Council is inviting suitable organisations to submit responses and recommendations around the subjects included in the questionnaire on pages 2 to 3 of the ‘SMT – Operated Sweeper Hire 2024’ document.

The questionnaire allows interested parties to:

• advise what might encourage or discourage participating in a tender opportunity

• give thoughts on a framework structure

• indicate their preference for pricing methods

• make recommendations relating to vehicle specifications, ordering, service lead-times, emergency service response time, sociable and unsociable hours service provision, depot locations in or close to Leicestershire, contingency plan for service continuity, vehicle tracking options, licences and accreditations, environmental management, added value, and any other recommendations they might like to give.
