The East Kent Councils of Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone & Hythe and Thanet were successfully awarded funding for the planning skills delivery fund to assist with delivering borough-wide design codes.

The consultant will undertake the first 2 of 3 stages of an area wide design code for each of the 5 Authorities. The project will focus on methods to develop the skills of Officers and communities to help create effective ways of engaging with local communities to input into the production of design codes possibly through toolkits, events and community panels. Another element to the project will be to establish ways of digitising the final design codes and engaging with communities in the process.
