Section four. Procedure

four.1) Description

four.1.1) Type of procedure

Negotiated without a prior call for competition

  • The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
    • absence of competition for technical reasons

Explanation:

This software solution was originally procured following a wider tender process for the implementation of a Web Transformation project at the University. The Sitecore software was identified by that process as the best fit for UWE's needs and a very competitively priced license was agreed. Going through a similar process to investigate alternative software vendors would require a similar scaled project and budget to achieve. As the UWE's ambitions have not changed within the project timescale are met by the current product, a tender to identify and implement an alternative would not offer significant advantages at this stage. The university has therefore negotiated rates for a further extension of 3 years with the current provider.
