two.2.4) Description of the procurement
A.) National Grid are seeking to select a partner for the a range of Health and Wellbeing Services. This can be broken down into 4 key areas; Occupational Health, Employee Assistance Programme, Physiotherapy and Psychological Health Pathway (Mental Health).
1. Occupational Health - We require delivery of a professional health and wellbeing service through a team of health professionals and support functions. The provider MUST have SEQOHS accreditation for Occupational Health Services. National Grid should receive access to a lead Occupational Health Physician alongside a team of Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisers. The general scope of services includes but is not limited to; Management Referrals, Fitness for work assessments, Absence management advice and support, Health Surveillance, Management of rehabilitation processes and guidance into relevant care pathways provided by both National Grid or through external services, Individual lifestyle and behaviour change advice, Storage and/or management of current and historic employee's medical records, On site health related risk assessments, Specialist pandemic planning and support, Creation of documentation packs for Ill Health Retirement and Income Protection Cover, Neurodiversity support/diagnosis.
2. Employee Assistance Programme - We require an Employee Assistance Programme to support employees to identify and resolve critical concerns that may affect job performance. The services will be available to all National Grid UK employees, including those on Salaried Fixed Term Contracts. It will not be available to agency staff or other contractors to National Grid. The provider should deliver services to Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) or equivalent standards for confidentiality, ethics and quality. The general scope of services includes but is not limited to; free hour telephone support, assessment and counselling line covering, Emotional support, Financial advice and debt management, Legal information and guidance, Carer guidance and advice, inc children & elderly dependents, Management support, Substance abuse support, Bullying & harassment support, Bereavement support (delivery may be in an employees home), Marital and relationship support. The scope also includes structured short-term psychological interventions, Critical Incident Support, Training.
3. Physiotherapy - We require a physical rehabilitation programme that delivers a reduction in incidence of musculoskeletal ill health through a strategy of proactive prevention and management. We would expect this to be delivered by a combined service of bespoke behaviour change programme and effective treatment options that achieve fast and sustained return to function. These services will be available to all National Grid employees in the UK.
4. Psychological Health Pathway (Mental Health) - We require a psychological health pathway that delivers risk-based interventions for employees suffering mild / moderate mental illness. We would expect this service to work in close conjunction with Occupational Health and EAP services, from which referrals would be made. The focus of the programme will be to enable employees to remain or return to work whilst receiving a range of cost-effective interventions that will return them to full function.

UVDB is the utility industry pre-qualification system, used by the utilities sector in the UK to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations. Joining UVDB as a supplier provides your organisation with an opportunity to showcase your capabilities and access multiple contract opportunities by completing a single Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ).
