The aim of the Service is to provide and ensure that individuals are not detrimentally affected through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available, or through an inability to express their needs effectively and equally.

This contract has been split into two elements:

1. General Advice Service: is for the provision of free advice and support to residents within BCP on a range of issues such as debt management, immigration, consumer issues, relationships, benefits claims etc.

2. Financial Wellbeing Service (split into two levels):

• Financial Wellbeing Advice Service - Initial advice and support to review a person’s current financial circumstance, ensuring action is taken to maximise income, manage debt and set up mechanisms to ensure regular payment of priority bills are made.

• Financial Wellbeing Support Service - Longer term support to improve people’s understanding and knowledge of financial matters and their ability to independently manage their own financial affairs on a long-term basis. Looking to address pertinent issues which holds the person back in seeking or maintaining accommodation or in dealing with other welfare issues.
