two.1.4) Short description
NHS South East London ICB is seeking expression of interest (EOIs) from capable, qualified and interested providers to provide an all-age wheelchair service which includes local clinics, wheelchair clinical assessment, clinical review, equipment supply, delivery & collection; personal wheelchair budget options; repair and maintenance of NHS wheelchairs; emergency/urgent response.
The service provides a stock of Mobility Equipment (and manages the ongoing maintenance of equipment on that List) to support residents in achieving the best possible independence in their day-to-day living. The stock of Mobility Equipment includes postural seating, seating cushions and further flexibility in the client’s preferences for their wheelchair. This is referred to as Personal Wheelchair Budgets-PWBs- or (interchangeably), Personal Health Budgets-PHBs. The total activity, which includes clinical assessment and review, provision of equipment, spare parts, collection and scrapping of equipment, is universally referred to as the “Wheelchair Service”.
The contract will be offered for a period of three years 13 months, with an option to extend for
an additional 24 months (3 years and 1 month in total) at the Authority’s sole discretion.
Contract value for the initial 3 years will be £2,100,000, (Annual contract value £700,000).
The deadline for expression of interest is 12:00 (noon) on 16 June 2023. Any expressions of interest received after this deadline will not be considered.
