East Lothian Council is seeking a contractor for gas quality assurance services in Domestic and Non-Domestic properties.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

East Lothian Council is inviting bids from suitably qualified, competent, capable and experienced service providers to manage, co-ordinate and provide an all-inclusive Gas Audit Service comprising Visual Inspections, Strip Down Inspections and Work In Progress Inspections to ensure compliance with current British Standards, Appliance manufacturers Installation and Servicing Instructions, Building Regulations and the Gas Safety (installation and use) Regulations (GSR).

The Gas Assessor will also complete and issue a comprehensive inspection report covering the various items and appliances listed and record all faults or failures discovered and, where necessary, implement the gas industry “Unsafe Situations Procedure” if any item or appliance is deemed to be “At Risk” or “Immediately Dangerous”.

The Gas Assessor will also be required to report under RIDDOR any installation falling within the reporting guidelines of the Health and Safety Executive.
