Summary; Roof extensions to existing blocks and the erection of 4no. infill blocks to create sixty residential units (consisting of 12 x 1 bedroom, 20 x 2 bedroom, 21 x 3 bedroom and 7 x 4 bedroom flats) with associated landscaping, boundary treatment, cycle and car parking, waste storage and amenity space.
The development will provide 60 new homes with associated improvements to pedestrian and vehicle access, and shared amenity facilities.
The development work shall be undertaken with residents remaining in habitation of their properties. The Council has no capacity to decant residents from the roof top block except temporarily for a working day or two for craning purposes etc.
The design is comprised of three key components:
• Infill blocks – four self-contained buildings abutting existing blocks,
containing 40 new homes
• Roof extensions – single storey extensions to all existing buildings,
containing 20 new homes
• Landscaping – complete remodel of the estate’s ground plane, including
changes to existing utility infrastructure, as well as; new road layout, parking,
cycle and refuse stores, children’s play and landscaped amenity spaces
