Tender for the provisioning of a main contractor for the construction of affordable housing

The Council seeks a suitably qualified main contractor ( the Contractor) to undertake construction work at six, Council owned, disused garage sites (The Sites) in and around Eagle Way, Shoeburyness. In addition to undertaking the demolition which is required, the Contractor must also design and build the new affordable housing which is to be constructed upon the Sites.
The 1st Stage Documents, related instructions and information are all being made available at this time. In compliance with public procurement requirements, the draft detail relating to the required works (the draft Stage 2 documents) is also being made available at this time. The works will be undertaken in conjunction with the JCT Design and Build Contract (2nd Recital) (inclusive of Council amendments).
The current requirements of the demolition on the site and the construction of the new affordable housing are described within the Draft Employers Requirements, issued with the other draft tender documents. The Contractor will also be required to undertake / deliver all approved planning requirements. This includes, but is not limited to aspects of vehicular access, parking, bin stores, cycle storage, rotary dryers and Landscaping. Landscaping will include soft and hard landscaping.
We can confirm that Planning Permission has been granted for the Sites.
