This Prior Information Notice is to allow interested parties to submit their interest regarding the opportunity to design, build and operate a world class commercial Bike Park in the Innerleithen area. Innerleithen in the Tweed Valley is a leading Mountain Bike (MTB) destination in the South of Scotland. This Bike Park opportunity is expected to be supported with public sector grant funding of up to 6 million GBP through the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal. This is ringfenced for capital expenditure on public infrastructure works required to deliver this development by the developer.
The Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal funding was approved for the ‘Mountain Bike Project’ as a whole and this project contains two elements; a Mountain Bike Innovation Centre (MTBIC) and the grant funding for the Commercial Bike Park opportunity presented here. The MTBIC is out of scope for this procurement but is a partnership development between South of Scotland Enterprise and Edinburgh Napier University.
At this time all parties with an interest in delivering this exciting Bike Park opportunity are requested to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) highlighting in principle their relevant experience, resources, skills and technical expertise to deliver the outline requirements.
