In preparation for an award of a National Rail Contract from the Department for Transport to Transpennine Express Limited (operated by First Group), it is intended to extend the servicing contract contract with Enpro Group Limited for the Class 68 and Mk5A fleet of trains. The servicing contract is expected to be extended in accordance with paragraph II.2.4 below.

The Contracting Authority will observe a 10 day standstill period from the date of issue of this notice prior to entering into the servicing contract extension with Enpro Group Limited.

The Standstill Period will end on 22nd May 2023.

The Contracting Authority intends to extend the servicing contract in accordance with Regulation 50(1)(c)(ii) of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 for technical reasons.

The servicing contract is expected to be extended in accordance with paragraph II.2.4 below.

Explanation:

ENPRO are responsible for carrying out servicing activities, at Railport depot. This covers the Mk5a and the Class 68's.

The staff at these locations are fully trained in carrying out the above-mentioned activities and the time taken to develop these core skills, and/or TUPE these staff will exceed the available time to transition over to a new contracting entity prior to May 23.
