Dorset Council wants the people of Dorset to live full and active lives in their local communities. If an individual is eligible for council-funded support, they can choose to take a Direct Payment. Direct Payments enable individuals to commission their own care and support, taking maximum control of their lives.
Dorset Council's ambition is to increase the number of Direct Payments that individuals or their representatives opt to take, to direct their own care and support. We want individuals to be able to make informed choices, and the Council are committed to providing easily accessible, information, advice, and guidance in as wide a variety of formats as possible to ensure we provide the best opportunity for individuals to consider taking a Direct Payment.
The Council wants to work with a Provider who will:
• make initial contact with the Individual within 2 working days of receiving the referral to arrange a mutually convenient time.
• have commenced support within 5 working days of initial contact.
The Council wish to work with a Provider who can deliver all three interrelated elements of the Direct Payment Support service:
(A) Advice Guidance and Support for Direct Payments
(B) Holding Account for Direct Payment recipients
(C) Payroll, HMRC and Pension services for Direct Payment recipients
