The key objectives of the programme are to upskill the primary, secondary and personalised care workforces to improve their awareness of the benefits of physical activity, to increase their confidence in prescribing and to signpost residents to physical activity opportunities.

There is a specific population focus on supporting working aged adults (18 to 55-year-olds) to be active, and particular priority groups (i.e. people with a disability, long term health condition and those living in areas of deprivation as well as ethnic minorities and women).

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Hertfordshire County Council has a requirement for the Provision of Adult Active Connections Service. The key objectives of the programme are to upskill the primary, secondary and personalised care workforces to improve their awareness of the benefits of physical activity, to increase their confidence in prescribing and to signpost residents to physical activity opportunities. There is a specific population focus on supporting working aged adults (18 to 55-year-olds) to be active, and particular priority groups (i.e. people with a disability, long term health condition and those living in areas of deprivation as well as ethnic minorities and women).

The Council is intending to award this contract to our existing provider following Direct Award Process C under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR.)

The contract will commence on 15th April 2025 until 14th April 2026.

The approximate life time value of this contract is stated in II.1.7 above.
