The Authority wishes to procure Auction Services (the “Services”) on a national (UK wide) basis from the successful Contractor. This paragraph sets out at a high level the intended scope of the Services that shall be provided by the successful Contractor as below:
Timed Online Auctions and ancillary services;
DVLA auction marketing and associated promotional activity; and
Hosting, design, content and functionality of bilingual (English & Welsh) website www.dvlaauction.co.uk
For the avoidance of doubt the following aspects of the DVLA Personalised Registrations service are not within scope of this Contract:
The Online “Buy Now” functionality; and
Hosting, design, content and functionality of www.dvlaregistrations.dvla.gov.uk
Venue (live) auctions. The authority wishes to procure an exclusively online auction solution.

DVLA currently offers Personalised Registrations for sale through online and venue auctions. Due to pandemic-related social restrictions, between May 2020 and September 2022 all auctions were held online. Venue auctions resumed in October 2022.
DVLA is beginning the re-procurement of the auction service with the auctions to be held exclusively online.
