The key services being sought are in relation to Automatic Doors Servicing & Repair are planned works, routine maintenance works, and unplanned reactive works from time to time. In addition, from time to time and despite the controls in place to prevent them, emergency repair or maintenance works may need to be carried out which will require contractors to provide 24/7 emergency call support, out with normal working hours and is applicable to NHSDG Estates properties throughout Dumfries & Galloway. For clarity, out of hours call outs refer to any call or work after 5pm and before 7am Monday to Friday, each 24-hour period for Saturday & Sunday and any public holiday as set by NHS Scotland. The Automatic Doors Servicing & Repair Contractor will be expected to carry out servicing, maintenance, repair and 24/7 emergency support to all automated doors in all NHSD&G properties in a professional manner leading to a prompt resolution of any problems that may affect the efficient delivery of services by NHSD&G. This includes pedestrian swing, folding and revolving style doors from a variety of different manufacturers

A detailed specification will be included in the ITT. However, some of the main features are as follows:
The contractor must be a member of the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) or another equal and approved organisation related to the servicing and repair of automatic doors.
It is a mandatory requirement of NHSDG that all contractors must be registered as CHAS Advanced members proof of registration will be required prior to acceptance of any contractor. If not CHAS Advanced registered at the time of submission of the SPD, then a stated undertaking that if successful at the ITT stage this will be achieved within six months of contract award is acceptable at this stage.
The contractor must be able to provide the required services on all door manufacturers, types and models within the estate.
NHSDG have strict controls in place in respect of Infection Control. These are called HAI-SCRIBE Healthcare Associated Infection System for Controlling Risk in the Built Environment. Infection Control Measures are strictly enforced on all projects carried out in NHSDG premises.
NHSDG expects that the works will be undertaken, in the main, by a stable workforce, although recognise that some sub-contracting is likely to be required for meeting marginal changes in demand and the employment of specialists.
