Dial-A-Ride is a bookable door-to-door accessible minibus, which is bookable by telephone. The minibus can be booked for journeys from any one location in the borough to another, by people who cannot use conventional public transport (and their carers where applicable), because they are not accessible or appropriate for them. The purpose of Shopmobility services is to give people with impaired mobility access to services and facilities in their locality.

The length of the contract is currently around 36 months (2+1) but the Authority has an ambition to extend this. We anticipate running a competitive process or directly awarding this contract under the Public Service Obligations in Transport Regulations 2023. The contract is concessionary in nature and the Authority anticipates making a contribution of no more than £120,000 (excl. VAT) per annum. The Authority will furnish selected suppliers - or all if a competitive process is adopted - with more data.
