This PIN gives notice that the London Borough of Hackney will be issuing a Contract Notice in May 2022 to procure a Contractor to carry out all of the Works required for the Britannia Phase 2b Project. The Contract award is estimated to be in January 2023, with a Start on Site in March 2023.
These works will be procured using the Competitive Procedure with Negotiation (CPN), and given the estimated Contract Sum is above the Public Contract Regulations 2015 threshold (in the region of £110-120m), this Contract Notice will be issued via the Find a Tender Service (FTS). The Employer will be the Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Hackney, and the Contract for the Works will be the JCT Design and Build Contract (2016 edition), as amended.
This project is Phase 2b of the Britannia project and follows on from the successful delivery and operation of the new City of London Academy Shoreditch Park (CoLASP) and Britannia Leisure Centre (BLC) as part of Phase 1. Phase 2b, on the site of the old Britannia Leisure Centre, is the first phase of residential development and encompasses the Design and Build of residential blocks H3, H4, H5 and H6 - ranging in height from three storeys to twenty-five storeys. It is currently envisaged that the Works will be divided into sections, with each Section subject to separate practical completions dates. The project will be of mixed tenure, delivering 81 affordable homes, and 314 homes for private sale.
Interested bidders are notified to enable this opportunity to be included within procurement pipelines, and to pre-empt the resources which would be required to pursue this opportunity.
