Cross Cricklewood (BXC) development. Outline planning consent for the development has been granted. The

new station is required to be completed, commissioned, handed over into operations and maintenance by May

2022. The project proposals have been developed to GRIP4 (single option development)and have achieved

approval in principle. London Borough of Barnet (LBB) requires the scheme to be developed to the completion

of GRIP stages 5 to 8

seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

The contract for the delivery of the new Thameslink station has been modified to include further ancillary works

- the design and construction of the station eastern entrance at the new Thameslink station;

- works to complete the Train Operator’s Compound (TOC) as part of the new operational sidings, including: drainage works; mains water connections; installation of a drivers walkway and lighting to the new station; new access gates; and retaining wall works associated with the widening of the existing sidings access road;

- the carrying out of design and construction activities to accommodate a future connection from the Brent Cross West station to a potential station / platforms for the West London Orbital (WLO) railway

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

The modifications were required because the works and associated services have become necessary and a change of contractor cannot be made both because of (a) economic and technical reasons due to the interactions of the additional works and services with the works to be carried out under the original contract and (b) because of the significant inconvenience and substantial duplication of costs for the London Borough of Barnet which would be caused.
