The Historic Environment Division (HED) seeks to appoint a Specialist Conservation Team, who will be led by a Conservation Architect, to conduct Condition Surveys on a sample selection of listed buildings across Northern Ireland. This procurement will provide a statistical analysis of the findings and provide a report to HED.
This procurement will provide HED with an update to its baseline survey of the condition of listed buildings carried out in 2013/14.
This appointed Conservation Team, led by the Conservation Surveyor or Architect, will survey a sample selection of 1504 listed buildings, across five geographic locations in Northern Ireland.
The Conservation Team will assess and score the condition of the buildings in the sample survey, and complete a simple risk matrix on same. The survey is solely on the condition of the exterior envelope of the buildings, therefore internal access to the properties is therefore not required.
The Conservation Team will statistically analyse the collected data and provide a report on the findings. This will include a comparison of the collected data with that of the 2013 Baseline Condition Report.
The data collected will assist the Historic Environment Division in evaluating it policies. The survey fulfils a Ministerial commitment made in response to the 2021 report of the Culture Arts and Heritage Taskforce.
